Data Warehouse​/Business Intelligence Engineer

Salary: $65.00 USD Hourly – $80.00 USD Hourly

Description:

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders to gather business requirements, design and validate data models, and deliver actionable insights through interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI. You will help transform complex data into clear, impactful visualizations that support strategic decision-making.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and understand data and reporting requirements.
• Design, document, and validate data models and business logic within enterprise data warehouses.
• Build and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI.
• Translate business questions into technical queries using DAX and SQL.
• Perform data profiling, cleansing, and validation to ensure high data quality.
• Develop KPIs, metrics, and performance indicators aligned with business objectives.
• Automate reporting and analysis processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Conduct user training sessions and provide ongoing support for Power BI users.
• Work closely with data engineers and architects to ensure optimal data structure and ETL performance.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data refresh issues and data integrity concerns in Power BI Service.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• 10 years of experience in data warehousing, data modeling, and business intelligence.
• Experience working with leadership to understand business requirements.
• Proven ability to build data models from scratch.
• Strong experience working within ERP systems.
• Proficiency in Power BI, including Power Query, DAX, Power BI Service, and Dataflows.
• Strong SQL skills and understanding of data modeling concepts (e.g., star and snowflake schemas).
• Experience with cloud-based and on-premises data platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse, SQL Server).
• Familiarity with ETL tools and processes (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory).
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
