Opened in 1981, Kennedy’s Restaurant is a family-owned establishment based in Marlboro, MA. Our family and business pride ourselves on incredible meals, outstanding service and creating a memorable dining experience. We are currently looking for friendly, energetic, and dedicated servers to join our team and help us continue to provide excellent service to our valued guests.

As a Server at Kennedy’s, you will be responsible for selling and serving food and beverages in an efficient and professional manner according to our restaurant’s standards. You will ensure guests have a positive and enjoyable dining experience from start to finish. This is a tipped position.

• Set up and Prepare: Complete opening and closing side work to ensure the dining room, garden patio, bar, kitchen, and service stations are organized and ready for service.
• Customer Service: Serve food and beverages to guests promptly and in a friendly manner, applying suggestive selling techniques to enhance the guest experience.
• Menu Knowledge: Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the menu, daily specials, and restaurant promotions to effectively assist guests with their selections.
• Teamwork: Assist team members as needed, ensuring the restaurant runs smoothly during all hours.
• Order Accuracy: Take accurate food and drink orders, and communicate efficiently with the bar, kitchen and support staff.
• Payment Processing: Handle guest payments accurately, ensuring accurate change is given and all transactions are properly recorded in the POS system.
• Cleanliness & Safety: Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas throughout the shift and report any safety concerns to management immediately.
• Restocking: Monitor and restock items in the dining room and bar as needed and inform management of low inventory.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following criteria:

• Experience: Previous server experience is highly recommended.
• Communication: Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal forms.

  Comfortable with basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) for handling guest payments.
• Problem Solving: Ability to handle guest concerns or issues in a calm and effective manner. Knows how to use all resources to resolve any issues.
• Physical Stamina: Must be able to stand and move around for long periods of time, frequently lift up to 50 pounds, and perform other physical tasks (bending, kneeling, etc.).
• Customer Focused: A positive attitude, willingness to assist guests, and an ability to work well as part of a team.
• Flexibility: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing needs during peak hours.

• The work environment is typically loud and bustling with activity, so the ability to work efficiently in a high-energy environment is essential.
• Servers will be on their feet for most of the shift and will need to move quickly and efficiently.
• All servers are required to serve both inside the main dining room and outside on our garden patio.

• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and climb as required during the shift.
• Multitask and work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
• Perform all duties both inside and outside all year round.
