About Kennedy’s Restaurant

Opened in 1981, Kennedy’s Restaurant is a family-owned establishment in Marlboro, MA. We pride ourselves on incredible meals, outstanding service and a memorable dining experience. We are currently looking for friendly, energetic and dedicated hosts to join our team and help us continue to provide excellent service to our valued guests.

Position Summary

As a Host, you’ll be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their dining experience. You’ll greet guests with a warm welcome, manage reservations and large parties, assign tables and ensure a smooth flow of seating during busy periods. Your role is essential to creating an organized and efficient service environment while maintaining a positive, friendly attitude.

Responsibilities
  • Greet and Seat Guests: Welcome guests warmly and guide them to their tables in a friendly, efficient manner.
  • Manage Reservations: Answer the phone, manage reservations, and coordinate seating arrangements to maximize restaurant flow and minimize wait times.
  • Maintain Waitlists: Track guest wait times, manage the waitlist, and communicate with servers to ensure timely seating.
  • Ensure Guest Satisfaction: Be attentive to guests  needs and inquiries and address any concerns promptly to ensure a positive experience.
  • Monitor Dining Room: Keep an eye on the dining room to ensure a smooth guest flow, and alert management or service staff if any tables need attention.
  • Assist with Table Settings: Assist with setting up tables and ensuring all necessary items (menus, utensils, etc.) are available for guests.
  • Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the host stand and entrance area clean and organized, creating a welcoming first impression. This includes supporting the wait and bus staff in cleaning tables when needed.
  • Coordinate with Servers and Management: Communicate guest preferences or special requests to servers and management to ensure a seamless dining experience.
  • Uphold Standards: Help maintain a professional and welcoming atmosphere by following all restaurant policies and procedures.

  • Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
  • Organizational

    Skills:

    Ability to manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer Focused: A welcoming, positive attitude with a desire to provide excellent service to every guest.
  • Multitasking Ability: Ability to manage multiple tasks at once, including greeting guests, answering phones, and managing waitlists.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with servers, managers, and kitchen staff to ensure a smooth guest experience.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for long periods and occasionally assist with light lifting (up to 40lbs).
Work Environment
  • The work environment is typically fast paced, with a high volume of guests during peak hours.
  • The noise level in the restaurant can vary but is generally moderate to loud, especially during busy shifts, so the ability to work efficiently in a high-energy environment is essential.
  • There is a main dining room inside with a loft upstairs, and a garden patio.
Physical Demands
  • Bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and climb as required during the shift.
  • Work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Multitask and work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
