This key position will assist and support the VP Business Development with the acquisition and strategic growth of new and existing facilities into a regional network of Ambulatory Surgical Centers that promote Virtua’s continued growth and prominence as a regional market leader. The role will define, align and influence the structure and partnership relations of all the surgical facilities within Virtua’s network.
It will also include oversight and tracking of internal transactions, attribution analyses, and merger/consolidations as defined.
Work with potential partners to engage in the initial discussion, planning, and partnership formation of new joint ventures. This includes the farming of new opportunities, completion of a partnership pitch, initial diligence regarding the financial opportunity, if any, and ongoing relationship building. Maintain open lines of communication with potential partners throughout the due diligence process and ensure that the Virtua team is connected to all appropriate parties on the physician/seller side.

Lead the coordination and project management of due diligence activities with various partnership acquisitions or transactions occurring simultaneously, coordinating with legal counsel and potential partners to achieve diligence milestones and negotiate definitive agreements.
Communicate the ongoing status of diligence progress and concerns to counsel and the ASC leadership team on a regular basis, ensuring all internal parties are appraised of the transaction status. Review all financial data populated in diligence files, working with Business Services and ASC Finance teams to validate accuracy and alignment with pre‑transaction projections and modeling.
Coordinate the scheduling of all transactional assessments, including onsite accreditation and life safety preparedness, business office functions, and valuations. Prepare approval information for the Virtua Finance committee and Board of Trustees as needed to obtain approvals for business development activities and monitor any open transactional issues or questions prior to close.
Serve as the point person for facility‑level share purchases or redemptions for the ASC team and partners, providing templated documents to aid in outlining share dollar values in alignment with the specifics of the facility’s operating agreement.
Act as the main conduit for new business attributions to current partnerships, advising operational leaders and senior management of projected financial impacts and strategic growth. Proactively assess the current network of Virtua’s ASC’s for consolidation, merger or business attribution considerations, and lead the transactions of such internal processes.
Assess the health of current physician partnerships, their succession plans, and monitor businesses for strategic realignment and growth. Attend and participate as an active Board member where assigned, ensuring the Board addresses critical issues at that center and that Virtua’s business interests are represented.
