Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with architectural and/or construction experience to join our team as a Construction Inspector. The position is hybrid and based in dCEI’s Marlton office with travel in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction codes and standards, the ability to identify and correct construction defects, and the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences. The construction inspector will be responsible for inspecting construction projects to ensure that they are built according to plans and specifications.
Responsibilities- Inspect construction projects to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
- Monitor the quality of construction work.
- Approve or reject construction materials and workmanship.
- Investigate and resolve construction problems.
- Prepare reports and documentation.
- Communicate with clients, contractors, other inspectors and supervisors regarding specifications and qualifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 2+ years’ experience in construction, engineering and/or architecture in New Jersey and Pennslyvania.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Independent and critical thinking abilities.
- The ability to work logically and systematically, with good time management.
- Basic IT literacy and the ability to manage and communicate electronic data.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills, plus the ability to speak laterally.
- Self-starter who can work independently and with team members.

The salary range for this position is $80 - $100k.
