Health Information Clerk, Professional Cardiology 1.0DV ) -
Description
Maintains an efficient and secure patient health information system through duties related to the collection, assembly,analysis, completion, filing, storage, retrieval, and delivery of patient medical records. Ensures the appropriate access to and release of confidential patient information through adherence to hospital policy and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications- High School graduate or equivalent
- Minimum Experience: 6-12 months inoffice setting
- Preferred Experience: Medical record experience or other related clerical experience
- Required Testing: Keyboarding – review only;
Alpha/numeric filing – review only;
Numeric data entry – review only - Other
Skills:
Able to access and input data into computer programs;
Operate office equipment: computer terminal and printer, telephone, copier, fax machine, and microfilm reader/printer;
Able to sequence both simple and complex tasks in the correct order;
Communicate clearly with MGH employees, medical staff, and the general public regarding health information needs and concerns - Physical Demands: Prolonged standing or sitting, frequent bending, reaching and stooping;
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. above waist level;
May require traveling long distances throughout the building;
Requires normal vision range and the absence of color blindness;
Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity;
Requires repetitive motion, including data entry, chart handling, and retrieval/filing of medical records
