Position:
Dentist
Provide dental services to prisoners at assigned correctional facilities and other dental clinics. Services include diagnosis, operative/restorative, surgical (including extractions), and prosthetic treatments. Document and record patient treatment information according to Dental Program guidelines to ensure compliance, and provide patient care following established standards. Maintain the facility dental clinic operations to MDOC Dental Program standards. Possession of Controlled Substance and U.S.D.E.A. Registration is preferred.
This is a test-designated position with direct contact and supervisory responsibility over prisoners for more than 50% of work time. The position is located within the secure perimeter of a correctional facility.
Note: The pay range for classified Dentists includes a 20% critical pay increase.
Education: Possession of a Doctorate of Dental Surgery or Doctorate of Medical Dentistry degree.
Experience: No specific experience required.
Michigan licensure as a dentist is required. Equivalent education and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis.
