Schedule:
November 24 (8a) December 1 (8a)- Holiday rates for Thanksgiving day
December 22 (8a) December 29 (8a)- Holiday rates for Christmas day.
Ongoing coverage blocks to be determined- estimate at least one week every other month.
Setting:
Inpatient hospital service with consultative responsibilities (no admissions). Cardiology team supported by 2 3 APPs. Hospitalist service handles all admissions; cardiology service functions as consultant support.
Daily Schedule:
Typical hours: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (8 9 hour days)
Team rounds with APPs each morning ( tabletop rounds )
APPs manage most documentation (H&P, progress notes, discharges, and orders)
Occasional TEE if available, but not required
Call Details:
Beeper call with 20-minute response time
Night call: 5:00 PM 8:00 AM
Call ratio and callback volume variable
STEMI call coverage required
Hospitalists admit patients overnight and consult cardiology in the morning
Facility & Support:
Trauma Level II Hospital
10-bed cardiology unit
5 RNs, 2 MAs, 11 APPs, 7 office staff
EMR:
Athena and CernerSawyer Regional Airport nearby; lodging at Best Western Plus
Requirements:
Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology
Active Michigan medical license (required for emergency privileges)
Clean background
Additional Details:
Emergency privileges available (must have MI license in place)
Credentialing timeframe: 60 days
Facility is Stroke Certified
