Schedule:

• Conducts assessment and establishes recreational therapy treatment goals and objectives to meet the individual needs of patients.
• Pre-certifies patient care and conducts ongoing reviews to authorize continued care.
• Evaluates each patient’s progress and the effectiveness of recreational therapy interventions.
• Formulates a goal-directed plan of care in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary treatment team, utilizing assessment data from Interdisciplinary Assessments.
• Updates Treatment Plan weekly or more often as needed.
• Coordinates therapeutic recreation activities for both large and small groups to observe patient response and encourage socialization.
• Assists with development of discharge plan in timely and documented standards.
• Provides patients and their families with information regarding leisure lifestyles and creates awareness of recreational resources in the community.

• Current Recreational Therapist license.
• Minimum Education:
  
  Bachelor’s Degree in Recreational Therapy or related field required;
  Master’s Degree preferred.
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision; ability to work in a stressful environment.
• Certifications:
  
  Therapeutic Recreation Specialist
• BLS required
• Handle with Care (within 3 months of hire)
• Minimum
  
  Work Experience:
  
  One year of experience in Recreational Therapy in a hospital setting preferred; experience in treatment planning and implementation highly desirable.
