Overview

Description Under the supervision of staff pharmacists, the pharmacy technician has primary responsibility in the unit dose, outpatient and intravenous admixture area. Assists the pharmacist in dispensing medication and maintaining patient records and changes for patients of all ages.

POSITION

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• On the job training

Preferred Experience:

• 1-2 yrs in related field

Required Certification:

• Certified Technician by the Pharmacy Technician Board (PTCB)

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of Medical/Nursing terminology
• Familiar with aseptic technique

Other

Skills:

• Personal computer
• Laminar flow hoods

Physical Demands:

• Occasional standing, walking, moderate physical effort
