Performs a variety of clerical functions in a medical office setting and assists with clinic support activities, for assigned patients in an outpatient clinic, according to established standards and practices.

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Working with patients/clients in a physician office setting and or their work site or equivalent.

• Post high school vocational/specialized training
• Medical terminology

• 6- 12 mos. in related field

• Basic Life Support – Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)

• Keyboard/computer experience
• Knowledge of Windows 98
• Ability to file alphabetically and numerically
• Medical terminology knowledge
• Microfiche/microfilm reader/printer
• Use of charge card verifier

• Moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 25 lbs)
• Frequent prolonged standing/walking
• Lifts supplies/equipment
• Manual dexterity and mobility
• Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching

• May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases
• Exposed to house/keeping/cleaning agents/chemical
• Occasional exposure to unpleasant patient or department elements
• Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances
• Subject to varying and unpredictable situations
• Subject to many interruptions
  
  Travel may be required
• Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquires
• May be exposed to biohazards, and/or radioactive substances
