PAY AND GROWTH PATH.

We’re ideally looking for a CNC Swiss‑Lathe Setup Machinist, and qualified candidates at this level will step directly into that role. If you’re not there yet, you can train and progress through the levels below with hands‑on support from our dedicated trainer.

  • CNC Swiss‑Lathe Setup Machinist: $26–$38/hour. Step into this role immediately if you bring the required setup experience, otherwise the training period for this level is 18–36 months.
  • Swiss‑Lathe Machinist 2: $23–$28/hour. Designed for machinists building toward full setup responsibilities (training is typically 6–24 months, depending on experience).
  • Swiss‑Lathe Machinist 1: $18–$24/hour. Entry level and ideal for someone starting their CNC journey, with structured training (typically 0–12 months, depending on experience).

WHAT YOU WILL DO.
  • Setup, trouble‑shoot, and operate CNC Swiss Lathes (sliding headstock) including tooling installation, offsets, work‑holding, and coolant lines (high and low pressure).
  • Understand and perform conventional methods of swiss machining.
  • Perform minor program adjustments with manager approval, such as deburring passes, order‑of‑operation changes, and speed or feed adjustments.
  • Perform and document in‑process inspections using good documentation practices.
  • Assist co‑workers in troubleshooting CNC machining issues.
  • Read and understand engineering prints and GD&T following ASME Y14.5 standards.
  • Communicate effectively and contribute to a positive, team‑focused company culture.
  • Act as a leader and mentor to new operators learning CNC machining.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Swiss‑Lathe Setup Machinist preferred — but entry‑level candidates with manufacturing or production experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Experience working in a medical device manufacturing environment—or with similar quality standards (21 CFR Part 820 and ISO 13485:2016)—is helpful but not required.
  • Familiarity with related manufacturing processes (CNC milling/turning, blast finishing, laser marking, cleaning, passivation, anodization, heat treatment, forming) is a plus.
