OverviewJob Description
Responsibilities- Provides patient care under physician supervision and according to licensure in a clinic or inpatient setting.
- Maintains established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement program, safety, environment of care, management of information and infection control standards.
- Utilizes excellent customer service skills at all times.
- Complies with federal and state law and accrediting and licensing agencies at all times, to include but not limited to, JCAHO and federal compliance regulations.
- Collects and processes historical data for initial data bases and interval examinations.
- Consults with the physicians freely when encountering new or complex medical or surgical problems, or if in doubt as to the established and usual course of therapy.
- Develops and implements diagnostic and therapeutic programs for patients seen in clinical setting, constellating with physicians when appropriate and/or necessary.
- Ensures patient communications by making phone calls to patients in a timely manner.
- Participates in or provides under physician supervision selected procedures including dressing changes, wound care, and surgical procedures.
- Maintains charts in EMR and maintains MMC flow sheet, databases, medication and problem lists according to Clinic Performance Improvement Plan.
- Presents medical records for periodic review by supervising physician.
- Demonstrates minimum acceptable knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient population serviced, based on physical, psychological, educational and safety needs.
- Attends job related seminars and workshops.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Appreciates the care and needs of women and their sensitive urogynecologic issues.
- Must be personable and caring at all times.
- Graduate of a Certified Physician Assistant Program or Master's Degree in Nursing and specialization in specific patient population.
Preferred Experience:
- Relevant health care experience
Required Licensure:
- Valid Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner licensure in the State of Michigan
