American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring an active MI RN license and 2+ years of experience.

• Work in the Acute Medical/Surgical unit on the 6th floor of a Level 2 trauma hospital
• Adult and geriatric patient population, ages 18-125
• Patient ratios range from 5:1 to 6:1
• Utilizes telemetry monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Kangaroo pumps, bladder scanners, and Dynamaps
• Documents using Cerner EHR
• Night shift schedule from 7p-7a with rotating weekend requirements
• Occasional floating required to like units

• Active MI RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Bachelor's degree required, BSN preferred
• Medical/surgical unit experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work with minimal supervision required
• Ability to work effectively in a stressful environment and take appropriate action

• Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric medical/surgical patients
• Orientation occurs on a bi-weekly basis
• Scrub color is Galaxy Blue, Navy also acceptable
• Fingernails must be clean and not excessive in length, in compliance with Hand Hygiene Policy
• Tattoos that may be considered offensive must be covered, and excessive jewelry is not permitted
• Candidates must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment
• Permanent residence must be more than 60 miles from the facility
