American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac/PCU Telemetry RN for a Michigan hospital requiring MI RN licensure, 1+ year of PCU/stepdown experience, and BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
Details- 225-bed specialty care hospital with Heart & Vascular Institute and Level 2 trauma designation
- Medical Surgical Telemetry / Cardiac IMCU unit with 36 beds
- Patient population includes cardiac and stepdown/PCU patients with trauma level of care
- Patient ratios of 1:5-6 for cardiac patients and 1:3-4 for PCU/stepdown patients
- Common diagnoses include chest pain, VATS, stroke/TIA, pre/post open heart surgery, pacemakers, heart blocks, vascular issues, and CHF
- Uses telemetry monitoring equipment
- Cerner EHR system used
- 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Call required only during low census periods
- Floating required
- Active MI RN license required
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of PCU or stepdown experience required
- Associate degree required
- Experience with cardiac patient populations, chest tubes, cardiac monitoring, and cardiac drips required
- Experience with cardiac stepdown populations required
- PCU/Stepdown patient population experience preferred
- Low level ICU skills preferred
- Provide cardiac and stepdown-level nursing care within a telemetry monitored unit
- Teamwork is essential for this role
- Scrub color must be blue or navy; blue jeans are not acceptable attire
- Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
- Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
- Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time
