American Traveler is hiring an RN
- Med/Surg for an Observation Unit position requiring a MI RN license and at least 1 year of med/surg experience.

• Work in the Observation Unit of a 225-bed specialty care hospital, Trauma Level 2
• Unit specializes in observation patient types including chest pain, asthma exacerbation, TIA, abdominal pain, urinary issues, blood sugar issues, DVT/PE, cellulitis, post-procedural monitoring, and minor trauma
• 10-bed unit caring for adult patients only (18+)
• Approximate patient ratio of 1:5 with no strictly defined ratios
• Uses cardiac monitoring equipment and Cerner EHR
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM on a 5 days/5 nights rotation
• Must work every other weekend and holidays
• No guarantee on block scheduling
• Floating required to Medical/Cardiac/Neuro-Ortho units
• No mandated call requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale Competency and Tele/ECG Competency required
• TNCC and ENPC certifications preferred but optional
• Minimum 1 year of med/surg experience required
• Telemetry experience preferred
• BSN preferred

• Provide care for adult patients meeting observation status criteria under supervision of the ED Director
• Scrub color required is galaxy blue
• Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full time
• Located in Marquette, Michigan, in the central Upper Peninsula, home to Northern Michigan University
• Facility offers specialized services including Heart & Vascular Institute, Cancer Center, Brain & Spine, Rehab, Behavioral Health, Digestive Health, Bariatric Medicine & Weight Management, Women's Health, and Pediatrics
• Orientation occurs bi-weekly
