American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac/PCU Telemetry position requiring an active MI license and at least 1 year of PCU or stepdown experience.
Details- 225-bed specialty care hospital with a Cardiac IMCU unit at a Trauma Level 2 facility
- Medical Surgical Telemetry department with 36 beds
- Cardiac and stepdown patient population including chest pain, VATS, stroke/TIA, pre & post open heart surgery, pacemakers, heart blocks, vascular issues, and CHF
- Patient ratios of 1:5-6 for cardiac patients and 1:3-4 for PCU/stepdown patients
- Utilizes telemetry monitoring equipment
- Cerner EHR system used
- 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Call required only if census is low
- Floating required
- Active RN license in Michigan (MI)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of PCU or stepdown experience required
- Associate degree in Nursing required
- Experience with cardiac patient populations, chest tubes, cardiac monitoring, and cardiac drips required
- PCU/Stepdown patient population experience and low-level ICU skills preferred
- Strong teamwork skills required
- Provide nursing care to cardiac and stepdown level patients requiring telemetry monitoring
- Work collaboratively within a care team under unit leadership
- Scrub color required: blue or navy
- Blue jeans are not permitted as part of dress code
- Local candidates accepted at a different pay rate if within 60 miles of the facility
- Candidates must reside 60 miles or more from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
