American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Observation Unit position requiring 1+ years of med/surg experience and ACLS/NIHSS/Tele-ECG certifications.

• Observation Unit within a 225-bed specialty care hospital, Trauma Level 2
• Cares for adult patients (18+) meeting observation status criteria such as chest pain, asthma exacerbation, TIA, abdominal pain, DVT/PE, cellulitis, and post-procedural monitoring
• 10-bed unit with approximate 1:5 patient ratios (not formally defined)
• Uses cardiac monitoring equipment and Cerner EHR
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
• Required to work weekends and holidays, with every other weekend coverage
• No mandated call requirements
• Floating required to Medical/Cardiac/Neuro-Ortho units
• No guarantee on block scheduling

• Active MI RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) competency
• Tele/ECG competency required
• TNCC and ENPC certifications are a plus
• Minimum 1 year of med/surg experience required
• Telemetry experience preferred
• BSN preferred

• Provide direct observation care for adult patients across a variety of diagnoses including cardiac, neuro, and post-procedural cases
• Report to the ED Director
• Orientation occurs on a bi-weekly basis
• Facility offers specialty services including Heart & Vascular Institute, Cancer Center, Brain & Spine, Rehab, Behavioral Health, Digestive Health, Bariatric Medicine, Women's Health, and Pediatrics
• Scrub color required: galaxy blue
• Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for travel rate
• Candidates cannot have worked permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time
• First-time travelers may be considered
