RN NICU PRN Nights – LCMC Health
Pediatric Critical Care nursing is a deeper, more intimate calling. You care for children when they are at their most vulnerable, providing holistic care that reaches beyond the patient’s bedside to support parents and caregivers.
You comfort fear, create hope, and employ high‑level critical thinking to support young patients and families.
Responsibilities- Take the lead: prioritizing, coordinating, and delegating all care touchpoints for your patients.
- Evaluate vital signs and monitor life support measures such as advanced heart and respiratory technology.
- Apply knowledge of complex patient conditions, including psycho/social needs.
- Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone.
- Monitor and engage with patients, families, and care team members immediately concerning significant events or patient condition changes.
- Prevent and treat wounds.
- Execute Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements.
- Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional experience for every patient.
- Collaborate and consult with the nursing supervisor and the care team to meet overall patient care needs.
- Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources.
- Assist teammates proactively, contributing to the overall team success.
- Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana, as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Current PALs.
- Current ACLS (CHNOLA CICU).
- Current CPI level 1 (CHNOLA PICU).
- Current NRPI (NICU).
