We are seeking an experienced PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide safe, high-quality care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures.
The RN will monitor patients throughout the post-anesthesia recovery period, assess their condition, manage post-operative needs, and collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to ensure safe recovery and appropriate discharge or transfer.
Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit.
- Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures.
- Perform ongoing assessments of vital signs, airway, respiratory status, pain, and level of consciousness.
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
- Manage post-operative pain, nausea, and other recovery-related symptoms.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, anesthesia providers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide patient and family education regarding post-operative care.
- Follow facility policies, safety standards, and infection-control procedures.
- Current and valid RN license appropriate for the assignment.
- Minimum 1 year of acute-care RN experience in PACU or the applicable specialty within the last 5 years.
- EPIC experience required.
- Strong post-anesthesia and post‑operative patient care experience.
- Ability to recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition.
- Strong communication and critical‑thinking skills.
