In this position you will play a key role in supporting our hourly workforce with comprehensive company‑provided benefit programs.

The Total Rewards Specialist will be the trusted guide and advocate for our employees, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of life and health insurance, retirement savings plans, disability benefits, and time‑off policies. This essential role involves much more than administration.

This role works closely with the Global Total Rewards team and reports directly to the HR Director at Blue Oval Battery Park Michigan, located in Marshall, MI.

Responsibilities

What you'll do:

  • Benefit Expertise & Compliance:
    Become the go‑to expert for all company benefit offerings, ensuring accurate and compliant delivery.
  • Direct Employee Support:
    Serve as the primary on‑site resource, guiding employees through benefit questions, enrollment, and complex issue resolution, including vendor liaison.
  • Engaging Communication &

    Education:

    Develop and deliver compelling communications, presentations, and orientations to maximize employee understanding and engagement with their benefit programs.
  • Enrollment & Administration:
    Oversee new hire and annual benefit enrollment processes for health, retirement, disability, and leave programs.
  • Cross‑Functional

    Collaboration:

    Partner with the company’s global Total Rewards team to ensure accurate benefit communications and related processes.
  • Strategic Analysis & Improvement:
    Analyze benefit utilization trends, contribute to process improvements, benchmarking, and participate in broader HR initiatives and special projects.
  • Short Term Incentive Administration:
    Utilize data analytics to track effectiveness of the incentive program, evaluating impact on key manufacturing performance indicators, employee engagement, and overall facility performance. Use data‑driven approach and continuous monitoring to inform adjustments to the program design. Partner with payroll and finance on the administration process for the payment of quarterly STI awards.
  • Fair and Equitable Program Administration:
    Manage hourly pay structures, including partnering with the company’s Total Rewards to benchmark competitive hourly pay rates and apply wage adjustments.

Candidates must possess full flexibility and a readiness to consistently work across all standard, operating, and rotational shift schedules, including day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Qualifications

You’ll have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in benefits administration supporting hourly/manufacturing employees
  • Strong understanding of benefits administration, regulatory compliance (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA), and general HR processes
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday) and Microsoft Office applications, with strong analytical and data analysis skills
  • Proven project management and organizational skills, with experience partnering effectively with cross‑functional teams and external vendors
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

Even better:

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related discipline
  • Prior HR experience in manufacturing
  • Experience with benefit vendor systems and integrations
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate resources across multiple functions
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict management skills
  • Ability to guide and influence employees and leaders at all levels
  • Experience with wellness program design or implementation
