Production Control, Scheduling, Capacity Planning and Constraints – Blue Oval Battery Park, Michigan

Join Ford Motor Company and work at the Blue Oval Battery Plant in Marshall, Michigan to help shape the future of automotive powertrain production.

Responsibilities
  • Co‑lead and develop efficient Production Operation Plans (OP Plans) for the plant.
  • Manage daily/weekly production scheduling, aligning with capacity and constraints.
  • Coordinate with Sales for order allocation and contingency planning.
  • Provide comprehensive ERP (SAP) support, including MRP development and deployment.
  • Ensure Just‑in‑Time (JIT) material flow, adapting to production changes.
  • Analyze near‑term demand changes and use the Global Capacity Planning (GCP) system for capacity assessment.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing and STA for supplier supportability and manage tool funding/ordering.
  • Monitor, report, and manage global shared constraints, developing interim support plans with cross‑functional teams.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Scheduling to manage demand and allocate constrained commodities.
  • Generate management reports to drive constraint resolution decisions.
  • Maintain ERP (SAP) data accuracy and generate production performance reports.
  • Develop inventory/cost reduction roadmaps and support system improvements.
  • Lead and attend key team meetings, communicate critical updates, prioritize issues, and support audits and compliance programs.
  • Build interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI, Looker Studio or similar.
  • Automate routine analysis and reporting functions and create robust data pipelines.
  • Enable data visualization and analytics for technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Flexible to work various shifts, including weekends, to meet production demands.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in production control, capacity planning, and constraint management in large enterprises (materials, electronics, automotive, or similar industries).
  • Proficiency with office software and familiarity with ERP or SAP systems.
  • Excellent data analysis skills.
  • Preferred:
    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Preferred:
    Experience building dashboards with Power BI, Looker Studio, or similar.
  • Preferred:
    Experience automating routine analysis and building data pipelines.
  • Preferred:
    Experience converting demand forecasts into executable schedules and driving mitigation of constraints.
  • Preferred:
    At least 5 years of experience in large manufacturing enterprises.
  • Preferred:
    Familiarity with manufacturing operational processes, quality management, process optimization, and overall organization.

Location

The role will start remotely and then transition to a hybrid schedule out of Marshall, MI. A relocation package is available.

This position is part of a salary grade 6–7 range. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
