Overview
This role is responsible for delivering professional nursing care that prioritizes the comfort and well-being of patients.
The nurse will utilize critical thinking and independent judgment during all phases of the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
Additionally, the individual will oversee and guide the nursing patient care team, which generally comprises Certified Nursing Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses, and various technicians.
Collaboration with both the immediate team and other healthcare disciplines is essential to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Timely documentation of patient care, including the patients conditions, reactions, and responses to treatment, is a key responsibility, alongside monitoring and tracking patient progress diligently.
Responsibilities- Deliver professional nursing care prioritizing patient comfort and well-being.
- Utilize critical thinking and independent judgment across all phases of the nursing process.
- Oversight and guidance of the nursing patient care team (CNA, LPN, and technicians).
- Collaborate with the immediate team and other healthcare disciplines to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Document patient care timely, including conditions, reactions, and responses to treatment, and monitor patient progress.
- A minimum of two years of experience in an Emergency Department is required.
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic health record systems is required.
- Experience in a charge nurse capacity is required.
- TNCC certification is preferred.
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- PALS (American Heart Association)
- A valid Michigan nursing license.
- The license must be active at the time of application submission.
