Locate Technician
Locate Technicians are responsible for accurately locating underground facilities including telephone communication lines, electric power lines, cable television lines, gas lines, fiber optic lines, water lines, and sewer lines. This position ensures that the area complies with client and state requirements. Service duties include observing, locating, marking, and documenting underground and exposed utility locations using multiple methods. The technician will be dispatched to locate and verify for utility customers.
They may work independently or as part of a team under a supervisor. The role requires focus, skill, and the use of machinery and/or tools.

Key Responsibilities- Locate underground facilities using transmitters and equipment.
- Operate in various terrains, including construction zones and residential, commercial, industrial, and rural areas, in all weather conditions.
- Interpret job order tickets, blueprints, and maps to plan and execute tasks efficiently.
- Perform locates and emergency/on‑call locates during regular, overtime, and holiday hours as needed.
- Execute work in a timely, professional, and efficient manner while communicating with customers, co‑employees, and third parties.
- Maintain damage‑free environments through effective communication with management, contractors, and utility customers.
- Use and maintain the required technology and tools.
- Work under supervision and as part of a team when required.
- High School Diploma or equivalency (GED).
- State‑issued driver’s license.
- Ability to problem‑solve and interpret multiple types of prints.
- Ability to lift over 50 lbs and walk/stand for multiple hours a day.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Pass a background screening with no violations within the last 5 years.
- Pass a DOT drug test.
- Computer skills: 1 year (Preferred).
- Utility locating: 1 year (Preferred).
- Vacuum truck experience A+.

Additional InformationAll employees are assigned proper technology and work vehicles to perform all duties. Tools provided include a company vehicle, laptop, and smartphone.
