Environmental Technician

The
Environmental Technician
is a dynamic, field-based role, involving independent work at various client sites. Daily routines include conducting on-site assessments, inspections, program development, and various sampling protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree and/or experience in Environmental Science, Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Construction Management field (preferred).
• Asbestos Site Supervisor, Asbestos Inspector, MN 2-Day Air and NIOSH 582 certifications (preferred).
• Willingness and ability to obtain the above certifications within 1 year of hire or meet the experience requirements listed below (preferred):
• 2,000 hours of work experience in general construction trades, asbestos-related work, safety, industrial hygiene, or hazardous materials control; or
• Bachelor’s degree in physical or life sciences, engineering, or architecture and of work experience in the areas listed above; or
• Completion of an apprentice program within the general commercial construction trades.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable source of transportation.
• Ability to pass a background and motor vehicle check.

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel is expected.

The typical salary range for this position ranges from $22.00 – $26.00 per hour. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, and experience.
