** The Role and Why It's Important
** As the Coffee Lead at Hy-Vee, you'll help keep our Coffee Shop running smoothly while supporting the Department Manager and leading the barista team. You'll make sure every customer gets a fresh, high-quality product and a genuinely warm experience from the moment they walk up to the counter.

** What You'll Do
** No two shifts are exactly the same, but here's what you can expect:
* Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly, learning their names, and going the extra mile to make every visit a positive one
* Take customer orders at the counter and over the phone, and assist with finding products and answering questions
* Ensure food is handled safely and the work area is always clean, neat, and up to department standards
* Monitor product freshness and appearance throughout your shift and prepare and replenish product as needed
* Anticipate daily product needs and follow or develop a production list to stay ahead
* Check in product, put product away, and review invoices as needed
* Run the department register and process payments where applicable
* Instruct, assign, and coordinate work for Coffee Shop Baristas
* Order product and supplies as needed and price products for customers as necessary
* Remove trash promptly and maintain a clean, organized department
* Handle confidential information including sales percentages and employee wages with discretion
* Maintain compliance with Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all company policies
* Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed

** To be successful in this role, you'll need to be able to:
* Deliver outstanding customer service and motivate your team to do the same
* Solve practical problems and make sound decisions with a variety of variables
* Use basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and percentages
* Guide and support team members with clear direction and follow-through
* High school diploma or equivalent required; food safety or sanitation courses encouraged; one year of similar or related experience preferred
