Overview

Business Operations Graduate Programme (Non-Investment Teams) — This is a 24-month rotational programme, broken between distinct learning streams. The successful hire will have the opportunity to work in four teams in a highly automated and volume‑driven environment. You will gain knowledge of fund structures and a breadth of financial markets and instruments, develop technical skills through internal and external training, and exposure to SQL, Power

BI, AI, Microsoft Office, and other software packages. Rotations are planned based on individual skills, interests and business requirements, with the goal of developing a broad skill set and exposing you to different aspects of the business to help identify a suitable role after the programme ends.

Through the collaborative approach adopted by Marshall Wace the successful candidate will gain insight into the workings of the Investment, Risk, Corporate Accounting, and Legal teams; however, you will not work directly in these teams. You will also join other graduates from the wider business on our Early Talent Development programme, a bespoke initiative to help new joiners get acclimated and strengthen crucial skills for success.

All teams operate in high-volume, automated environments with a focus on exceptions and controls. We are dedicated to continuous process improvement, delivering value and efficiency. Your duties and responsibilities may include:

• Reconciling all fund-related transactions and positions for accuracy and compliance
• Calculating the fund’s Net Asset Value (NAV) daily for distribution to shareholders
• Determining fair value for complex financial instruments
• Utilising SQL, Python and other technology for improving processes and enhancing controls
• Direct support of the trading, capital markets, quantitative and fundamental investment teams
• Oversight of the firm’s daily locate and financing optimization processes
• Building new and developing existing processes across multiple asset classes
