Creative Director

At Texas State Technical College (TSTC), the Creative Director serves as an inspirational leader and visionary guide for all creative teams. The role fosters innovation in visual storytelling, brand expression, and digital experiences, ensuring all creative output aligns with institutional goals and values.

The Creative Director collaborates across the college to design integrated campaigns, provides strategic oversight for sub-brands—including Online College, Accelerated Training, Work Site, and the TSTC Foundation—and shepherds multidisciplinary teams in photography, cinematography, and graphic design.

Essential Functions
  • Demonstrate TSTC’s core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Inspire and guide creative strategies that elevate and uphold TSTC’s brand narrative and visual identity.
  • Lead and mentor creative teams, cultivating a culture that attracts, develops, and retains top‑tier creative talent.
  • Oversee the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns that support organizational initiatives, and steward sub‑brands.
  • Champion innovation in digital media, storytelling, and emerging technologies; establish performance metrics and tracking systems to evaluate creative effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Marketing, Multimedia, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Eight (8) or more years of progressive creative leadership experience with demonstrated success in brand development and cross‑platform storytelling.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary creative teams, including photography, videography, and graphic design.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in digital, print, video, and experiential work.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain collaborative, high‑performing team environments.

  • Technical and Professional Proficiency – proficiency with emerging technologies, digital design tools, accessibility standards, commitment to inclusion, compliance, continuous professional growth.
Physical Abilities
  • Remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Operate computers, cameras, and standard creative equipment.
  • Occasionally move equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Travel between TSTC locations or event sites as needed.
