The Import Compliance Analyst is a highly tactical role responsible for ensuring all imported goods comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. This position requires an action-oriented professional with exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:- Regulatory Compliance:
- Monitor and enforce compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications, and other import requirements.
- Maintain accurate import documentation and ensure timely filing of customs entries.
- Operational Execution:
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams to resolve import issues quickly and effectively.
- Track shipments and proactively address delays or compliance risks.
- Identify potential compliance gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct audits of import transactions to ensure accuracy and adherence to company standards.
- Process Improvement:
- Recommend and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency and reduce compliance risks.
- Stay current on regulatory changes and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
- You ask the right questions to accurately analyze situations. You quickly and decisively take actions in fact-changing, unpredictable situations. You deal constructively with problems that do not have clear solutions or outcomes. You understand that different situations may call for different approaches.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Business, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
- Highly action-oriented with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks under tight deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities to meet organizational and individual goals.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Experience in import compliance, customs brokerage, or trade operations preferred.
- Knowledge of import/export documentation and customs clearance processes helpful.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including logistics, procurement, and legal.
- Communication: Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills for interacting with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and regulatory changes.
- Integrity: Strong ethical standards and commitment to compliance excellence.
- Proactive Mindset: Anticipates issues before they arise and takes initiative to resolve them.
