The Patient Care Technician is a member of a multidisciplinary team, responsible for a variety of tasks and services to assist in the provision of care and comfort for patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Reports and records observations and contributes to the efficient functionality of the department.

- Partner with the RN and healthcare team to support patient care outcomes and goals of care.
- Perform delegated tasks per competency and seek guidance when completing new or unfamiliar duties.
- Obtain, record, and accurately enter patient data into the EMR according to PCT Scope of Practice standards.
- Complete documentation promptly to ensure an accurate legal record of patient care.
- Communicate factual, concise, and timely patient information to the RN, healthcare team, patients, and families.
- Provide 1:1 observation for high-risk patients after completing CPI and sitter orientation.
- Conduct thorough, safety-focused hand-offs to communicate treatment plans, assessments, and patient needs.
- Demonstrate commitment to patient and workplace safety by preventing and reporting errors, accidents, and infections.
- Maintain accountability for knowing the current condition and needs of assigned patients.
- Completion of RN/Education lead training Day within 6 months of hire.
