McFarland Clinic is currently accepting applications for the Radiologic Technologist position at its Marshalltown office. Candidates should be service-oriented, a team player, and be able to provide extraordinary care every day to our patients.

• Position patients and adjust equipment for all routine radiographic procedures.
• Instruct patients regarding procedures.
• Observe patients for vital signs during examination.
• Follow prescribed safety standards operating radiologic equipment.
• Use radiation protection according to department policy and procedures.
• Select length and intensity for radiation exposure by adjusting equipment on an individual patient basis.
• Examine imaging studies for technical quality and diagnostic usefulness.
• Authorize release of patients upon completion of imaging examination.
• Develop and process images, if applicable.
• Deliver diagnostic images to radiologists for reading and interpretation.
• Administer contrast media correctly and provide appropriate instruction.
• Provide input for equipment and supply purchase decisions.
• Recognize emergency situations; initiate life support measures for patients as necessary.
• Maintain patient records.
• Assume responsibility for supplying area according to departmental needs.
• Enhance professional growth through education programs, conferences, and workshops.
• Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested.
• Assume responsibility for portions of the quality assurance program.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Perform related work as required.

• Completion of an accredited course in Radiologic Technology or an Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology.
• Current certification (ARRT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Current state permit as General Diagnostic Radiographer.

• One year experience preferred.
