Shift Lead – Walgreens

Base Pay Range

$18.00/hr – $21.00/hr (actual pay based on skills, experience, geography, etc.)

Responsibilities
  • Open and close the store independently, including system start‑ups, cash handling, and ensuring floor and stockroom readiness.
  • Handle product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops, and provide change to cash registers.
  • Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience: greet and assist customers, resolve issues, and share best practices with team members.
  • Hold store keys and manage opening/closing procedures in absence of management.
  • Assist, coach, and train team members on warehouse and vendor ordering processes, order release, and reverse logistics.
  • Log all sales accurately on assigned cash registers, including scanning errors, price verifications, and voids.
  • Support inventory management: maintain accurate counts, perform stock rotation, and update pricing/signage as needed.
  • Assist in sales displays, promotional and seasonal arrangements, and reset merchandise.
  • Support bookkeeping tasks (cash reports, ledgers, bill payment) and maintenance requests.
  • Ensure compliance with state/local regulations for controlled products and store policies.
  • Perform bag checks before team members leave the store.
  • Carry out special assignments and other tasks as directed.
  • Assist at the Pharmacy out window when requested.
Training & Personal Development
  • Participate in required training and complete PPLs requested by Management.
Communications
  • Act as liaison between management and non‑management staff, communicating tasks and reporting disciplinary or customer complaints.
Basic Qualifications
  • One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder experience.
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of store inventory control.
  • Applicants with arrest or conviction records may be considered.
  • Valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state.
