The Clinical Dietitian plays a vital role in the healthcare team by providing medical nutrition therapy to patients with various disease states and conditions. This individual collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate medical and nutritional needs. The Clinical Dietitian teaches patients how to make nutritionally sound food choices to speed the recovery process, prevent or treat disease, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum

Required:

Bachelor's degree in human nutrition, nutrition education, food and nutrition, or related field.

Preferred/Optional: Master's or doctoral degree in human nutrition, nutrition education, food and nutrition, or related field.

Minimum

Required:

Completion of Dietetic Internship Program.

Preferred/Optional: One year Clinical Dietitian experience in healthcare setting.

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

Required:

• Registration eligible at time of hire; and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with the Commission on Dietetic Registration within three months of hire.
• Temporary State Certified Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist at time of hire (Wisconsin based Dietitians).
• Permanent State Certified Dietitian within six months of hire (Wisconsin based Dietitians).

Preferred/Optional: Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with the Commission on Dietetic Registration & Certification from the State of Wisconsin at time of hire.
