Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab Technologist with 2+ years of IR experience and active RCIS, ACLS, and BLS certifications for an acute Level II trauma setting.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care cardiac cath lab with 7 procedure rooms, including 4 Cath Lab/EP and 3 IR/Vascular suites

• Cases include LHC, RHC, PCI, structural heart procedures, Watchman, Impella, IABP, IFR, FFR, IVUS, STEMI, Roto, and laser interventions

• Average of 20+ cases per day across all rooms

• Cerner EMR in use, with transition to Epic

• Shifts are 4 ten-hour days per week (7:00–17:30) with rotating day off; alternative schedule of 5 eight-hour shifts (7:00–15:30) may be considered

• Weeknight and weekend call rotation required—call approximately once every 3 weekdays and once every 3 weekends, Friday–Monday

• 30 minute call response time is required

• Floating to hybrid vascular cases as needed

• Responsibilities include preparing suites, maintaining radiation safety, setting up sterile tables, scrubbing in for procedures, managing radiation dose and imaging angles, cleaning, restocking, room turnover, and sheath removals

• Participate in a multi-disciplinary STEMI call team of 1 RN and 3 Techs

• Orientation includes 2-3 full days of training/shadowing and buddy call, with no call the first week

• Scrubs are provided; personal scrub caps are allowed

• Holiday call may be required

• Candidates living within 80 miles are considered local and may be subject to a different pay rate

• Former staff must have an end date at least 6 months prior to consideration; hospital approval required for rehire

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of interventional radiology (IR) experience

• Current ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), and RCIS (CCI) certifications required

• License required if applicable; active license must be held by assignment start

• Ability to scrub, assist with device exchange, guidewire manipulation, catheter placement, and balloon and stent deployment

• Experience with radiation safety setup, calibration, troubleshooting of fluoroscopy and hemodynamics monitoring systems

• Proficiency with Cerner EMR is preferred

• Two references required: one from a supervisor and one from a peer or supervisor
