American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for an inpatient acute care position requiring 1+ year of experience in a Level 2 trauma center setting.
Requirements- Current OT license required if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with ADL evaluation and documentation justifying next level of care
- Strong teamwork skills and flexibility required
- Acute care inpatient setting at a Level 2 trauma center
- OT Inpatient unit serving adult and pediatric populations
- Patient population includes adult and pediatric ICUs, stroke, trauma, neuro, ortho, general med surg, oncology, and same-day discharge joint program patients
- Covers adult and pediatric acute inpatient rehab, pediatric inpatient rehab program, and stroke specialty program
- Department treats approximately 120-150 patients per day with 9 evaluations and 16 treatments per therapist per day
- Cerner EMR used, transitioning to Epic
- Day shift, 8-hour shifts, variable scheduling
- Rotating weekends and holidays required with core staff
- Self-scheduling not permitted
- Works alongside 1 rehab aide and 1 COTA
- Perform ADL evaluations and document to justify next level of care
- Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team including rehab aides and COTAs
- Must clock in and out at the facility
- Dress code requires any solid color scrubs, clean and professional appearance
- Department-specific orientation varies based on skill level
- OT professionals must go through facility credentialing process which can extend onboarding timeline
- All required licensure, including state license, must be completed in time to meet credentialing deadlines
