Welder

A Welder I fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques. Reviews blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process. Cleans and inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness.

• ✔ MIG welding with the ability to weld components as specified
• ✔ Produce various items and equipment according to H&S approved processes using fabricating and welding techniques and equipment
• ✔ Prepares parts and part surfaces, assembles, tacks, and welds parts together per print
• ✔ Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures
• ✔ Notifies Lead when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered
• ✔ Perform job duties in an ethical, professional manner which is consistent with the H&S handbook
• ✔ Adheres to company quality protocols and processes

• ✔ Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the area
• ✔ Possess a moderate understanding of the general aspects of the job
• ✔ Has a basic understanding of blueprints and can identify how the parts go together
• ✔ Ability to read tape measures
• ✔ Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
• ✔ The ability to weld tier one parts to standard alone after getting instruction from senior personal
• ✔ 0-1 year of general work experience
• ✔ Must be able to demonstrate welding ability by passing an in-house weld test
