Shipping Worker

Hours: Mon - Fri (First shift, hours may vary)
Wages: Starting wage $16.00 hourly (Non-exempt)

This is a temp to hire position for the first 60 days.

Working at Wenzel’s farm as a Shipping Worker involves being responsible for handling movement of product in and out of the facility. They make sure products arrive on time and in good condition, leave according to the deadline, and are accurately tracked in the inventory system.

• Unloading deliveries, checking incoming shipments against purchase orders, inspecting damage, and recording inventory.
• Prepare outgoing orders by picking, packing, labeling, and preparing order for shipping with accuracy.
• Loading outgoing shipments onto trucks/vans.
• Inventory Control:
  Updating stock records, storing products properly, and sometimes performing product counts or audits.

• Completing and maintaining shipping and receiving paperwork, such as bills of lading, and delivery receipts.

• Manual or powered pallet jacks and powered forklifts.
• Ability to use handheld scanners, computers, label makers, and printers.
• Maintain all equipment in the department.
• Sharp objects, cutting machines, and fast-moving equipment.

• Clean and sanitize work area.
• Employees may be exposed to smoke from the smokehouses.
• Tolerate both hot and cold environments.

• Ability to lift objects from floor to above the head.
• Ability to push and pull carts with product.
• Ability to lift 30-40 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand, bend, reach, and walk throughout an 8-hour shift.

• Company provided safety boots/shoes to be kept onsite. See captive shoe policy*.
• Any other shoes may be used on a temporary basis until shoes/boots are received.
• Company provides hair nets, beard nets, and production overcoats must be always worn.

• Must be 18 years old.
• Must be able to perform all the responsibilities of the position.
