JOB SUMMARY

The Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner, is a skilled member of the allied health care team who is qualified both academically and clinically to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physician. The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner works within a cooperative unit, utilizing team effort with health care providers, co-workers, and the public to provide positive patient interaction.

In this role, you will provide hospital support and rounding, ordering tests, and conducts pre-op and post-op care.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum

Required:

Master’s Degree in Nursing or Graduate of a nationally accredited Physician Assistant Program.

Preferred/Optional: None

EXPERIENCE

Minimum

Required:

None

Preferred/Optional: Two years nursing experience or one to two years’ experience in specialty.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

Minimum

Required:

  • Current State of Wisconsin Nurse License or Nurse Compact License, and Nurse Practitioner Licensure or Certification from the National Commission on Certifications of Physician Assistants.
  • Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
  • Additional department‑specific certifications, licenses, or memberships may be required (varies by department/location).

Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
