The Certified Nurse Midwife is a member of the health care team who provides primary health care to women focusing on pregnancy, childbirth, the postpartum period, family planning and gynecological needs. The individual participates in the care of women with medical complications in collaboration with Obstetrician‑Gynecologists or licensed physicians as appropriate. The Certified Nurse Midwife will function under national and state licensure and current written protocols overseen by collaborating physicians.
Education- Master’s degree in nursing with emphasis in midwifery.
- For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

- Minimum required:
Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or Nurse Compact License, Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), and Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber within two months of hire. - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
- Preferred/Optional:
Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or Nurse Compact License, Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), and Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber at time of hire; BLS certification awarded by the AHA at time of hire.
