Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with recent Epic experience and a valid TN or compact license.

• Work in the hospital Operating Room department
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday
• On-call required: every third weekend and 2–3 nights during the week, totaling about 10 days per month
• Holiday call shifts may be required
• Surgical cases include C-sections, hernia repairs, laparoscopic procedures, hysteroscopies, ablations, orthopedic, podiatry, and pain management cases
• Equipment used includes Bovie machine, laparoscopic towers, cameras, light sources, insufflation equipment, and Stryker surgicount system for sponge counts
• Epic EMR system is used and experience within the last 12 months is required
• First-time travelers and local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• PACU experience is preferred
• Floating may be required
• Holiday coverage may be required based on unit needs
• No block or schedule requests will be accommodated
• All time-off requests must be submitted up front and will not be approved after assignment begins
• Two professional references are required for consideration

• Active TN or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room RN experience required
• Current certifications required: AHA BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Epic EMR experience within the last 12 months required
• Must pass Epic competency exam
• Experience with listed surgical cases is required
• Men must be clean-shaven to pass fit testing
