Position: Hospitality Adjunct Instructor (TEMPORARY)

Overview

Hospitality Adjunct Instructor (TEMPORARY) – Diablo Valley College (DVC) Culinary Department. An adjunct instructional faculty member will maintain high academic standards, demonstrate professionalism and civility in all activities related to the role, and engage with colleagues, community, and students.

Description of Position

The Diablo Valley College Culinary Department is seeking Adjunct Faculty in Hospitality. Example courses that might be taught by this position include:

  • Bake 1
  • Bake 2

Adjunct Faculty duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • providing instruction in accordance with established curriculum, course outlines and class schedules;
  • creating and maintaining an environment which emphasizes learning, encourages free discussion of ideas and critical thinking;
  • evaluating progress of students concerning educational matters and grades student work;
  • meeting with students outside of class;
  • maintaining appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics;
  • maintaining current knowledge in the subject matter areas;
  • fulfilling professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member;
  • maintaining accurate academic records;
  • performing other related duties as assigned.

    Initial salary placement for full-time, tenure track positions ranges from $68,136 to $112,848 per year (Up to $132k). Adjunct instructor pay rate is $77.87-$128.97 per hour (up to $151.16). Counseling, Librarian, Disabilities Specialist pay rate is $51.37-$87.77 per hour (up to $100.65).
