Associate Dean, Nursing and Allied Health

Salary:
Step 1: $138,480 per year – Step 5: $168,720 per year (step increases effective July 1 each fiscal year).

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct, plan, and coordinate all aspects of the nursing program, including funding, staffing, delivery, and accreditation reporting.
  • Manage and continuously improve nursing and allied health programs in collaboration with faculty, staff, and community partners.
  • Develop and evaluate curriculum, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and state licensing requirements.
  • Prepare and submit required reports to accreditation bodies, state boards, and the district.
  • Oversee program budget, grant application, and financial reporting.
  • Supervise and evaluate department staff, including scheduling, workload distribution, and professional development.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant regulations, laws, and licensing requirements.
  • Represent the department on college and district committees as assigned.
  • Perform additional duties as required by the position.
Qualifications
  • Master’s or higher degree from an accredited university in nursing education or administration.
  • One year of continuous, full‑time direct patient care as a registered nurse.
  • One year of experience as an administrator with validated performance of administrative responsibilities.
  • Two years of experience teaching in a pre‑ or post‑licensure registered nursing program.
  • Demonstrated leadership in nursing and/or allied health programs, including supervisory and partnership roles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships and influence stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of accreditation and regulatory requirements (e.g., BRN, ACEN, CCNE).
  • Understanding of equity‐minded practices and commitment to diversity and inclusion in education.
Education & Training
  • Master’s or higher degree in nursing education or administration.
  • Continuing education in nursing administration, accreditation, and program management.
Experience
  • Registered nurse clinical experience (minimum 1 year).
  • Administrative leadership in nursing education (minimum 1 year).
  • Teaching experience in a registered nursing program (minimum 2 years).
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience with grant writing, management, and budget oversight.
  • Ability to implement equity‑minded practices that improve student outcomes.
  • Strong curriculum development skills aligned with workforce needs and accreditation standards.
  • Collaborative and strategic planning capabilities.
