Job Description

WVUHS Medical Group seeks an Orthopedic Sports Medicine Physician to join our multidisciplinary orthopedic team. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in the primary location of Martinsburg, WV.

Duties

The highly skilled and fellowship-trained orthopedic sports medicine physician will have expertise in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of sports-related injuries, with advanced training in minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures, complex ligament reconstructions, cartilage restoration, and comprehensive care of athletes and active individuals of all ages.

Qualifications

  • Applicants must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Must have completed an ACGME-accredited orthopedic sports medicine fellowship.
  • Must be board-certified/eligible in orthopedic surgery.
  • Active or eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in West Virginia.
  • Demonstrated surgical expertise and experience in arthroscopic and reconstructive sports medicine procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • All qualifications must be met at the time of appointment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with competitive athletes, professional teams, or sports programs.
  • Interest in research, innovation, or academic teaching in sports medicine.
  • Familiarity with the latest advancements in biologics, cartilage restoration, and minimally invasive techniques.
About Us

Berkeley Medical Center serves the community as a 195-bed non-profit acute care hospital. BMC offers full radiology services including MRI, PET, nuclear medicine and interventional radiology; a wound care center with two hyperbaric chambers, a NICU, a 20-bed ICU, oncology services, neurosurgery services (including a Mazor robot) and a Cardiac Cath Lab. BMC recently expanded OR services by adding four new outpatient ORs and five new ORs in the main hospital to grow services in robotics, orthopedics, and vascular health.
