Travel RN – Operating Room (OR) | Morgantown, WV (WVU System) | Epic

WVU System is seeking an experienced Travel OR RN to join a busy 14-suite Main OR supporting a wide variety of surgical services. This is a high-volume OR averaging ~28 cases/day + add-ons, with a strong team environment and Epic charting.

Assignment Details

• Unit: Main OR (Cost Center 72)
• Facility/Setting: Acute Care Hospital
• Charting/EMR: Epic
• Patient Ratio: 1:1
• Cases: All surgical cases except Open Heart
  • Heavy Neuro/Spine, Total Joints, Open Fractures, plus General Surgery and ENT
  • Vascular expected to return in August
• Orientation: 3 shifts
• Scrubs: Provided (RNs & OR Techs)

Shift Options (Varies by Need)

• 8s / 10s / 12s with varied start times (primarily day/evening)
• No self-scheduling for travelers
• Block scheduling may be considered based on unit needs
• Example need: 7:00a–7:30p | F/S/SU | No call obligation | Holiday call rotation as needed | Float to outpatient surgery center as needed

Call Requirements (When Applicable)

• RNs: 1 weeknight on-call 7p–7a
• Weekends: 1 weekend day on-call 7a–7p per month
• Call response time: 20 minutes (if beyond 20 minutes, must stay nearby when on call)

Support & Resources

• Charge RN coverage: 7a–7p (will circulate as needed)
• RT: In-house 24/7 (supports vented patients intraop/PACU)
• Pharmacy: 24/7 + Omnicell
• No IV Team

Requirements

• RN License: Active license required to start (ok to submit while pending, facility willing to wait)
• Certifications (AHA): BLS required (ACLS & PALS required for OR RNs per unit requirements)
• Experience:
  • 2–3 years recent OR experience required
  • 2–3 prior travel assignments required
  • Ortho/Neuro experience preferred
• BSN: Not required

Compliance / Submission Notes (Important)

• 50-mile rule: Driver’s license address must be outside 50 miles of the facility
• WVU system policy: Candidate may only be submitted to one WVU position at a time
• Return policy: Prior perm/travelers may require 2-year separation depending on prior status/tenure
• Background: Any background hits must be disclosed at submission
• Driver’s license: Must include unexpired copy with submission

Cancellation Policy

• Client may cancel 2 shifts per 13-week assignment (or 1 shift for assignments under 13 weeks)
