HowYou'll Contribute
A Sim Lab Educator who excels in this role:
- Collaborates with nurse managers and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.
- Assist in the development and implementation of curricula for nursing training programs, to include development of simulation component for staff and student competency training.
- Programming and development of simulation scenarios and virtual patient cases, technical operation of human patient simulations for the simulation laboratory, skills laboratory, and virtual reality spaces simulations.
- Ordering and maintaining all simulation training equipment and supplies.
- Coordinate scheduling for training space and manage registration for all courses/training.
- Designs, delivers, and assesses learning activities and curriculums related to clinical competencies, departmental/organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and the use of clinical information technologies.
- Collaborates with nursing schools and external education agencies to coordinate education programs for students and staff.

The right person will be responsible for education of staff and nursing students through simulation lab and clinical instruction. The educator will assist with planning and operation of the simulation laboratory, assist with coordination of the new grad nurse residency program, and work collaboratively with the Education Coordinator and Director to ensure safe and effective use of the simulation lab. The instructor will also serve as a clinical instructor in the clinical setting as needed.
Additional duties include participation in course planning, development, and evaluation. Other duties include advising students, serving on committees, and participating in education activities.
Applicants should have a current state RN. Additional requirements include:
- Graduate of a professional school of Nursing.
- Bachelor's degree required, master's degree required within 3 years.
- Basic Life Support certification is required.
- Minimum of two years' experience in professional nursing in which leadership ability has been demonstrated.
