Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Med Surg – PRN

Schedule:

12‑hour shifts, In‑Person, 36 hours a week with alternating weekends. Minimum 36 hours per week.

Sovah Health – Martinsville, VA is a 220‑bed acute‑care hospital offering extensive medical specialties. Position is posted for Acute Care, encompassing Med Surg and Telemetry patients.

• Under RN direction, contributes to patient assessment by collecting data for RN analysis.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection, wound care, medication administration, and documentation of patient care.
• Coordinates plan of care with patient and family, addressing psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural concerns.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living: personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation.
• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient status and responses to interventions with RN, provider, patient, and families.
• Advocates for physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse from the Virginia State Board of Nursing or a Compact State.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• Previous experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
