American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications along with 1-2 years of experience.

• Work in a 41-bed Medical Surgical Unit within an acute-care hospital
• Medical/Surgical-Telemetry specialty caring for patients of all ages
• Common diagnoses include post-op orthopedic procedures and total joint replacements
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Uses Meditech EHR system
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required, with additional weekend work as needed
• On-call duties as needed
• Floating required as needed, potentially within a 25-mile radius of the facility

• Active RN license valid in Virginia (VA or compact license required)
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, Handle with Care, and NIH Stroke Scale
• 1-2 years of relevant nursing experience required
• Strong critical thinking skills and decisive judgment required
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
• Must consent to random drug screening and complete a criminal questionnaire

• Provide skilled nursing care to a diverse patient population within a full-service acute-care hospital
• Facility holds accreditations for Chest Pain Center and Heart Failure care, and is a member of the Duke Heart Network and Duke Telestroke Network
• No specific scrub color required, though casual attire is not permitted
• Scheduling and holiday requests cannot be accommodated
• Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Local rate available for candidates within the 60-mile radius
• Previous perm staff employment at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months is not permitted
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
