Mental Health, Substance Abuse Counselor
This is a full-time position working within the PCS tri-county catchment area, with primary responsibilities split between Franklin and Henry Counties. This position is responsible for planning and implementing programming to address substance use and suicide prevention as well as mental health promotion among youth. This position includes providing educational programs targeting elementary, middle and high school students. This position will also be responsible for developing awareness campaigns around various topics and developing activities and presentations designed to develop youth leadership and life skills.
Requires skills in training and knowledge about the prevention of substance use, problem gaming and gambling, risk and protective factors, behavioral health wellness, and mental health promotion. Qualified applicant must be comfortable working independently as well as with a team, speaking to large groups, working with diverse populations including children, teens, and adults. Requires occasional evening and weekend hours. Bachelor's degree preferred in human services or related field.
