The Fleet and Logistics Manager will lead all aspects of transportation operations across owned, leased, and third‑party carrier networks. This role oversees driver management, DOT compliance, telematics performance, maintenance coordination, and logistics scheduling for LTL, FTL, and refrigerated loads across the U.S. The ideal candidate combines operational discipline with strategic thinking — ensuring every mile is safe, efficient, and cost‑effective while providing visibility and confidence to internal teams and customers.
RoleObjectives
- Recruit, train, and manage the company’s fleet of drivers to ensure safety, compliance, and efficiency.
- Monitor driver performance using telematics and safety programs, implementing corrective actions when needed.
- Foster a positive safety culture, focusing on driver retention, engagement, and professional development.
- Leverage telematics systems (preferably Samsara) to maximize fleet efficiency, optimize routes, improve security, and manage fuel and operating costs.
- Track and report on vehicle and driver performance to support operational decision‑making.
- Oversee compliance and safe operation of a DOT‑regulated fleet responsible for LTL, FTL, and refrigerated loads of CIPP lining materials across the U.S.
- Maintain full compliance with federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
- Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs and schedules (B2W Maintain preferred).
- Build and manage a network of mobile fleet service providers to deliver preventative maintenance and critical repairs coast‑to‑coast, ensuring maximum uptime.
- Schedule and coordinate with third‑party carriers for inbound and outbound shipments.
- Develop and manage comprehensive scheduling processes to ensure tight deadlines are met while lowering landed freight costs for customers.
- Create internal‑ and external‑facing visibility tools to provide real‑time updates on critical delivery schedules.
- Partner closely with the Order Fulfillment team and Plant Operations to ensure accurate communication and proactive resolution of delivery risks.
- Manage the company’s portfolio of owned, leased, and rental fleets across all U.S. operations.
- Negotiate and oversee lease and rental agreements, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
- Optimize the balance between rental equipment spend and owned capitalized equipment to maximize cost efficiency.
- Partner with operations and supply chain teams to align logistics strategies with production and customer demand.
- Provide leadership in optimizing asset utilization, logistics efficiency, and cost savings.
