Position: Electrical Engineering Technician (ControlTech Automation)

Electrical Engineering Technician (Control Tech Automation)

Join BW Design Group at Control Tech Automation, a division of Barry-Wehmiller Design Group, Inc. Control Tech Automation is a control panel integrator and fabricator for process, packaging, utility, and other industries. Located in St. Louis, we specialize in control panels for system integrators and production facilities across the United States.

You will be part of a team that solves complex engineering problems for leading companies. You’ll partner with seasoned leaders, technical specialists, and subject‑matter experts to deliver high‑quality solutions with consistency and accuracy.

What You’ll Do
  • Work individually and in teams to support capital projects and implement solutions for our clients.
  • Validate engineered solutions.
  • Collect entire design packages and build packages.
  • Act as liaison between Operations, Engineering and Manufacturing.
  • Schedule and execute engineering and manufacturing handoff meetings.
  • Create bills of materials for non‑engineered solutions.
  • Interface with our client and distributor representatives.
  • Research alternate electrical components to optimize delivery, design, and cost.
  • Assist in designing custom industrial control panels based on specified criteria.
What You’ll Bring
  • 1+ year(s) of related industrial automation fabrication experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills applied in design, fabrication, and troubleshooting of systems.
  • Ability to successfully execute multiple project responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Support for the entire engineering team and report directly to the Engineering Manager.
  • Experience with Allen‑Bradley hardware and networks is a plus but not required.
  • A degree in Electrical Technology or equivalent experience.
Travel Requirements
  • Regional travel may be required on a sporadic basis to support regional projects and activities.
